    Let \(f\) be a continuous map of a compact metric space \(X\) and \(\Phi = (\phi_1,\dots,\phi_m): X \to \mathbb {R}^m\) be a continuous \(m\)-dimensional potential. The generalized rotation set \(\mathrm{Rot} (\Phi)\) is defined as \(\{ rv(\mu): \mu \in \mathcal{M}\},\) where \(\mathcal{M}\) is the set of all Borel invariant probability measure and \(rv(\mu) = (\int \phi_1 d\mu,\dots, \int \phi_m d\mu)\) denotes the rotation vector of the measure \(\mu.\) \(\mathrm{Rot}(\Phi)\) is a compact and convex subset of \(\mathbb R^m.\) The authors have obtained the following results: {\parindent=6mm \begin{itemize} \item[1.] Let \(K \subset \mathbb {R}^m\) be compact and convex. Then there exists a one-sided full shift \(f: X \to X\) on a shift space with a finite alphabet and a \(m\)-dimensional continuous potential \(\Phi\) such that \(\mathrm{Rot}(\Phi) = K.\) \item [2.] Let \(\mathrm{Rot}_{Pt}(\Phi)\) be the set of all \(w \in \mathbb{R}^m\) which are accumulation points of Birkhoff averages. Then \(\mathrm{Rot}_{Pt}(\Phi) \subseteq \mathrm{Rot}(\Phi)\) and in general this inclusion can be strict. Also conditions for \(\mathrm{Rot}_{Pt}(\Phi) = \mathrm{Rot}(\Phi)\) are given. \item [3.] For smooth nonuniformly expanding systems under certain assumptions on \(w \in \mathrm{Rot}(\Phi)\) the entropy \(H(w)\) is entirely determined by the growth rate of those periodic orbits whose rotation vectors are sufficiently close to \(w\). \item [4.] If \(f: X \to X\) has strong thermodynamic properties and \(\Phi: X \to \mathbb R^m\) is Hölder continuous, then the entropy function \(w \to H(w)\) is real-analytic on the interior of \(\mathrm{Rot}(\Phi).\) Moreover, \(H(w) > 0\) for all \(w \in \mathrm{int} \mathrm{Rot}(\Phi)\). \end{itemize}}
