Two stabilized finite element methods for the Stokes eigenvalue problem based on the lowest equal-order finite element pair are given. The paper is organized as follows. Section 1 is an introduction. In Section 2, the studied Stokes eigenvalue problem and notations are introduced. The stabilized mixed finite element methods are given in Section 3. Section 4 is devoted to analyzing the lower bound by the stabilized nonconforming finite element and the upper bound of the eigenvalue by the stabilized conforming finite element method. Several numerical experiments are presented in Section 5. Finally, concluding remarks are given in Section 6.
