The author deals with the Tikhonov theorem for the singularly perturbed systems in canonical form \[ \dot u_{\varepsilon}=f(u_{\varepsilon},v_{\varepsilon},t,\varepsilon),\ u_{\varepsilon}(0)=u^0, \] \[ \varepsilon \dot v_{\varepsilon}=g(u_{\varepsilon},v_{\varepsilon},t,\varepsilon),\ v_{\varepsilon}(0)=v^0, \] where the dot denotes the time derivative, \(0 <\varepsilon \ll 1,\) \(f\) and \(g\) are sufficiently smooth functions acting from an open subset of \(\mathbb{R}^n\times\mathbb{R}^m\) into, respectively, \(\mathbb{R}^n\) and \(\mathbb{R}^m.\) Using the converse Lyapunov theorem, the author constructs an appropriate Lyapunov function to push the estimates of the original Tikhonov's proof on the time interval \([0,T]\) to infinity (\(T\to\infty\)).
