The paper under review focuses on \textit{the twisted derivation problem} for group rings \(RG\), where \(G\) is a possibly non-abelian finite group with center having finite index in \(G\), and \(R\) is a semi-prime ring with identity such that either \(R\) has no torsion elements, or that if \(R\) has \(p\)-torsion elements for some prime \(p\), then \(p\) does not divide the order of \(G\). This paper has been divided into four sections as follows: Section 2 contains some known results on special derivations to be used later and a brief overview of the important problems on integral group rings. Section 3 is devoted to the proof of the main result, namely Theorem 1.1. In Sect. 4, the author applies Theorem 1.1 and the preliminary Theorem A to integral group rings of finite groups (see both Theorems 4.1 and 4.4) and also comments in detail on twisted derivations of commutative group algebras (see Theorem 4.6). The author also provides a counter example (see Example 1) to show that Theorem 1.1 may however not hold in general.
