This paper intends to investigate the existence of non-degenerate Killing-Yano 2-forms on nilpotent Lie groups. The results obtained in this article improve some results of [\textit{A. Andrada} and \textit{I. G. Dotti}, Differ. Geom. Appl. 58, 103--119 (2018; Zbl 1391.53032); \textit{M. L. Barberis} et al., Classical Quantum Gravity 29, No. 6, Article ID 065004, 10 p. (2012; Zbl 1238.83058)]. Recall that a Killing-Yano \(p\)-form on a Riemannian manifold \((M, g)\) is a \(p\)-form \(\omega\) satisfying the Killing-Yano equation, \[ (\nabla_X\omega)(Y , Z_1, \dots , Z_{p-1}) = -(\nabla_Y\omega)(X, Z_1,\dots , Z_{p-1}),\quad \forall Z_1, \dots , Z_{p-1}\in \chi(M), \] where \(\nabla\) is the Levi-Civita connection. Also, a Lie algebra \(A\) is called 2-step nilpotent Lie algebra if it is not abelian and \([[A, A], A] = 0\). A Lie group is 2-step nilpotent if its Lie algebra is 2-step nilpotent. In this article, as an important result, it is shown that the 2-step nilpotent complex Lie groups are the only 2-step nilpotent Lie groups which carry a non-degenerate left invariant Killing-Yano 2-form. Also, in Section 4, the authors consider a certain 2-step nilpotent complex Lie group, which arise from a connected graph, and it is proved that the space of left-invariant Killing-Yano 2-forms is one-dimensional.
