In the present paper, the authors construct the explicit infinite families of quadratic twists with analytic ranks 0 and 1 for a large class of elliptic curves over \(\mathbb{Q}\) and they show that these families satisfy the weak Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture and their Tate-Shafarevich groups are finite. Furthermore, these families of quadratic twists satisfy the 2-part of the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture when the original curve does. They improve the result in [\textit{J. Coates} et al., Proc. Lond. Math. Soc. (3) 110, No. 2, 357--394 (2015; Zbl 1311.11046); \textit{L. Cai} et al., Sci. China, Math. 59, No. 7, 1307--1326 (2016; Zbl 1416.11094)] but they remove the stronger conditions imposed in these papers and their results can be applied to many elliptic curves including elliptic curves without complex multiplication. As an application, they deduce a new result in the direction of the Goldfeld conjecture and carry out the numerical calculation which shows that infinitely many elliptic curves satisfy the full Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture of rank \(0\).
