The paper is a part of the ongoing project to settle the Riemann hypothesis in terms of operator algebras. The authors extend the notion of the inner function on a Hardy space to a quasi-inner function. This generalization is used to prove the following results. The first main theorem says that the product of local factors over a finite set of places of \(\mathbb{Q}\) is a quasi-linear function. The second theorem states that if \(F\) is a finite set of places of \(\mathbb{Q}\) and \(u\) is the associated product of local factors, then the Sonin space \(S(u)\) is infinite dimensional.
