    In the paper under review the authors give an answer to the question ``Which stable Riemann orbifold is of Schottky type?'' For the case of a Riemann surface or a stable Riemann surface or a Riemann orbifold, this problem has already been solved, and the authors (with \textit{I. Garijo}) have solved the stable orbifold case in [Isr. J. Math. 186, 297--331 (2011; Zbl 1256.30030)]. In this paper, the authors find another stable Riemann orbifold which is of Schottky type. The main theorem is the following. Theorem. Let \(\mathcal{O}\) be a Riemann orbifold of signature \((0; n_1, n_1,\dots ,n_r, n_r), r\geq 2, n_i\geq 3\), and let Sing\(\subset\mathcal{O}\) be its locus of singular (cone) points. Let \(\Sigma= \{\gamma_1,\dots ,\gamma_s\}\) be a set of simple closed curves in \(\mathcal{O}\)-Sing such that each connected component of \(\mathcal{O}\)-(Sing\(\cup \Sigma\)) is of negative Euler characteristic. If \(\mathcal{S}\) is a stable Riemann orbifold which is homeomorphic to the one obtained from \(\mathcal{O}\) by pinching the curves in \(\Sigma\), then \(\mathcal{S}\) is of Schottky type.
