The aim of this paper is to prove existence and uniqueness of solutions of the complex Monge-Ampère equation with an additional linear gradient term inside the determinant on compact Hermitian manifolds. Let \((M,g)\) be a compact Hermitian manifold of complex dimension \(n\). The main result of the paper is the following theorem. For a given function \(F\in \mathcal C^{\infty}(M)\) and a smooth \((1,0)\) form \(\alpha=\alpha_jdz^j\) on \(M\), there exists a unique pair \((u,b)\) with \(u\in \mathcal C^{\infty}(M)\) and \(b\in \mathbb R\) satisfying \[ \begin{aligned} &\operatorname{det}\left(g_{i\bar j}+\alpha_iu_{\bar j}+\alpha_{\bar j}u_i+u_{i\bar j}\right)=e^{F+b}\operatorname{det}(g_{i\bar j}), \\ &\left(g_{i\bar j}+\alpha_iu_{\bar j}+\alpha_{\bar j}u_i+u_{i\bar j}\right)>0,\\ &\sup _Mu=0. \end{aligned} \] The case when \(n=2\) was earlier proved by \textit{R. Yuan} [Can. J. Math. 70, No. 4, 943--960 (2018; Zbl 1397.35081)].
