The authors present a high-order quasi-conservative discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method by using the non-oscillatory kinetic flux for solving the 5-equation model of compressible multicomponent flows with Mie-Grüneisen equation of state. In their method, the DG method with the non-oscillatory kinetic flux is first used to solve the conservative equations of the model, then a DG scheme for the volume fraction equation is derived based on the Abgrall idea, which avoids the unphysical oscillations near the material interfaces, and finally, a multi-resolution weighted essentially non-oscillatory limiter and a maximum-principle-satisfying limiter are employed to ensure oscillation-free near the discontinuities, and to preserve the physical bounds for the volume fraction, respectively. Numerical examples show that the present method is able to capture shocks and material interfaces, and also is high-order accurate in smooth regions.
