This paper is a well-written, well-organized and well-illustrated. It makes a valuable contribution in index theory for foliated manifolds endowed with Lie group actions. Let \(G\) be a compact Lie group. Let \(P\) be a \(G\)-invariant family of \(G\)-transversally elliptic operators, and let Ind\((P)\) denotes the \(K\)-theoretic index of \(P\). The author gives direct computations of the Chern character of Ind\((P)\), in bivariant local cyclic homology, (see Section 3), and proves an Atiyah-Singer-Berline-Vergne type formula for \(P\) (see Theorems 4.7,4.8,5.8), by using standard analytic techniques. In my opinion, it would be interesting to give refinements for the above theorems as transgression formulas for equivariant eta forms, in particular in the situation of totally geodesic embeddings; this can be done by taking inspiration from \textit{B. Liu}'s work [Math. Z. 292, No. 3--4, 849--878 (2019; Zbl 1421.58005)].
