The classical results of É. Cartan established the duality between the Riemannian symmetric spaces of non-compact and compact types. In this paper the authors study the pseudo-Riemannian symmetric spaces of semisimple Lie groups and establish some analogue of duality between non-compact pseudo-Riemannian symmetric pairs and commutative compact semisimple symmetric triads. A triad is a triple consisting of a non-compact semisimple symmetric pair (a semisimple Lie algebra and an involution) plus one more involution. Further in the article some properties are studied using the constructed relation of duality. In particular, it preserves the irreducibility property and some more special properties. The results are accompanied by a number of examples.
