The theory of Euler systems, a collection of Galois cohomology classes called an Euler system gives a lower bound of the characteristic ideal of a certain Iwasawa module (e.g., see [\textit{K. Rubin}, Euler systems. (Hermann Weyl lectures). Princeton, NJ: Princeton University Press (2000; Zbl 0977.11001)]). The characteristic ideal is an important invariant of finitely generated torsion Iwasawa modules, but, in general, we can not determine the pseudoisomorphism classes of Iwasawa modules completely by the characteristic ideal. The higher Fitting ideals have more refined information on the structure of Iwasawa modules. For example, we can determine the pseudoisomorphism class and the cardinality of the minimal system of generators of an Iwasawa module by the higher Fitting ideals. \textit{B. Mazur} and \textit{K. Rubin} [Kolyvagin systems. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (AMS) (2004; Zbl 1055.11041)] formulated the theory of Kolyvagin systems, and obtained a refinement of the Iwasawa main conjecture in certain situations. We can deduce via their arguments that \(\Lambda\)-primitive Kolyvagin systems determine the pseudoisomorphism class of Iwasawa modules arising from the dual fine Selmer groups of \(p\)-adic representations of the absolute Galois group of \(\mathbb{Q}\) satisfying certain conditions. However, in [loc. cit.], they do not obtain any explicit bound of the higher Fitting ideals of Iwasawa modules. \textit{M. Kurihara} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc. (3) 104, No. 4, 728--769 (2012; Zbl 1242.11085)] utilized ``Gauss sum-type'' Kolyvagin systems to study the higher Fitting ideals of Iwasawa modules arising from Greenberg Selmer groups of \(p\)-adic Galois representations, and proved a refinement of the Iwasawa main conjecture. In this article under review, the author detailedly investigates the higher Fitting ideals of Iwasawa modules arising from the dual fine Selmer groups of general Galois representations which have rank one Euler systems of ``Rubin-type'' circular units or Beilinson-Kato elements. By using Kolyvagin derivatives, he constructs an ascending filtration \(\{\mathfrak{C}_i(c)\}_{i\geq 0}\) of the Iwasawa algebra, and he shows that the filtration \(\{\mathfrak{C}_i(c)\}_{i\geq 0}\) gives good approximation of the higher Fitting ideals of the Iwasawa module under the assumption analogous to the Iwasawa main conjecture.
