The \(r\)-Dowling-Lah polynomials (Q2039625)

Motivated by some generalizations of the Bell, Lah and Dowling polynomials, the author introduces the \(r\)-Dowling-Lah polynomials that are denoted by \(DL_{n,m,r}(x)\) in the paper. These polynomials are of combinatorial interest since they count certain colored set partitions where the blocks are ordered, and some elements are restricted to be in pairwise different blocks. After the presentation of this interpretation, the author gives a detailed analysis of these polynomials, including their relation to other polynomials, recurrences, Dobiński-type formula, exponential generating function, and unimodality.
