A polynomial \(f(x)\in\mathbb{Z}[x]\) is said to be monogenic if it is irreducible over \(\mathbb{Q}\) and if for a root \(\theta\) of \(f\) the ring of integers of \(\mathbb{Q}(\theta)\) coincides with \(\mathbb{Z}[\theta]\). The question addressed in the paper is: if \(f(x)\) and \(g(x)\) are monogenic, when is \(f(g(x))\) monogenic? It is easy to see that this is not always the case, as the authors show giving a concrete example, and it is reasonable to expect that finding a full characterization would be a very hard problem. What the authors do is to consider the special situation of two cyclotomic polynomials \(f(x)=\phi_{p^m}(x)\) and \(g(x)=\phi_{2^n}(x)\), where \(p\) is any prime (also \(2\) is allowed). In this case they prove that \(f(g(x))\) is indeed monogenic.
