Let \(k\) be a field of characteristic zero and \(\bar k\) its algebraic closure. A surface over \(k\) is called a non-trivial Severi-Brauer surface if it is isomorphic to \(\mathbb{P}^2\) over \(\bar k\) but not isomorphic to \(\mathbb{P}^2\) over \(k\). The result on the classification of finite subgroups of the group of birational maps of \(\mathbb{P}^2\) over \(\bar k\) is known, see [\textit{I. Dolgachev} and \textit{V. A. Iskovskikh}, Prog. Math. 269, 443--548 (2009; Zbl 1219.14015)]. In the paper under review the author gives a classification of finite subgroups of the group of birational maps of a non-trivial Severi-Brauer surface over \(k\). Denote by \(\mu_n\) the cyclic group of order \(n\). The author proves that there exists a nontrivial Severi-Brauer surface \(S\) over \(k\) such that the group of birational maps of \(S\) contains a finite subgroup \(G\) if and only if there is a positive integer \(n\) divisible only by primes congruent to \(1\) modulo \(3\) such that \(G\) is isomorphic to either \(\mu_n\), \(\mu_{3n}\), \(\nu_n\), \(\mu_3\times\nu_n\), or \(\mu_3\times\mu_3\), where \(\nu_n\) is the balanced semidirect product \(\mu_n\rtimes \mu_3\).
