The paper studies semigroups associated with Schrödinger operators \(\mathcal{L}_V=-\Delta+V\), acting in \(L^2(\mathbb{R}^n)\), \(n \geq 3\). The potential \(V\) is assumed to be nonnegative and to obey a reversed Hölder regularity assumption of the form \[ \left(\frac{1}{|B|} \int_B V(y)^q\, dy\right)^{1/q} \leq \frac{C}{|B|} \int_B V(y) \, dy \] for some \(q >n/2\). Associated with \(\mathcal{L}_V\) is the critical radius function, given by \[ \rho(x) = \sup\left\{ r>0: r^{-(n-2)} \int_{B(x,r)} V(y)\,dy \leq 1 \right\}. \] For \(0<\alpha<2\), one considers the space \(\Lambda_{\mathcal{L}}^\alpha\) which consists of measurable \(f\) for which \[ \|\rho^{-\alpha}f\|_\infty < \infty \] and for which one has the Zygmund-type condition \[ \sup_{|z| \neq 0} \frac{\|f(\cdot+z)+f(\cdot-z)-2f\|_\infty}{|z|} < \infty. \] The paper explores relationships between these spaces and suitable estimates for the heat kernel of \(\mathcal{L}\). Their results imply regularity of fractional powers of \(\mathcal{L}\) and related results for Riesz and Bessel transforms.
