In the study of rational maps, it is well known that there exists a conformal metric for hyperbolic maps and a conformal metric with finite singular points on the Julia set such that the map is expanding with respect to the metric. Morevoer, the metric is Hölder continuous with respect the Euclidean metric (spherical metric if \(\infty\) is in the Julia set). Whether such metric exists for semihyperbolic maps is an open question, as the post-critical set on the Julia set is an infinite set. Here the author gives an affirmative answer to this question for the case of unicritical polynomials \(f_c(z)=z^d+c\).
