    Let \(\theta >0\) be real, and \(r\in \mathbb{N}\). The authors consider the following generalized partial theta functions with a Dirichlet character \(\chi\): \[G_{\varepsilon ,\chi }\left( \theta ,b,r\right) =r\sum_{n=0}^{\infty }\left(-1\right) ^{\varepsilon n}\chi \left( n\right) e^{-\left( n+b/r\right)^{r}\theta },\text{ \ where \ }\varepsilon \in \left\{ 1,2\right\} . \] For such functions they prove the following theorems:\par Theorem 1. Let \(\chi \) be a non-principial character. If \(b\geq 0,\) then for any nonnegative integer \(N,\) we have the following asymptotic expansion: \[G_{2,\chi }\left( \theta ,b,r\right) =-r\sum_{n=0}^{N}\left( -1\right) ^{n} \frac{B_{rn+1,\overline{\chi }}\left( \frac{b}{r}\right) }{\left(rn+1\right) n!}\theta ^{n}+O\left( \theta ^{N+1}\right) \text{\ as\ }\theta \rightarrow 0+, \] where \(B_{n,\chi }\) is the generalized Bernoulli polynomial.\par Theorem 2. Let \(\chi \) be a non-principial character. Suppose that the conductor \(f_{\chi }\) is odd. If \(0\leq b<r,\) then for any nonnegative integer \(N,\) we have the following asymptotic expansion: \[G_{1,\chi }\left( \theta ,b,r\right) =\frac{r}{2}\sum_{n=0}^{N}\left(-1\right) ^{n}\frac{E_{rn,\overline{\chi }}\left( \frac{b}{r}\right) }{n!} \theta ^{n}+O\left( \theta ^{N+1}\right) \text{\ as\ }\theta \rightarrow 0+, \] where \(E_{n,\chi}\) is the generalized Euler polynomial.\par They also show in Theorem 3 connection between certain \(L\)-series and the above asymptotic expansions.
