\textit{M. Junge} and \textit{Z.-J. Ruan} [Contemp. Math. 365, 355--381 (2004; Zbl 1072.46042)] studied decomposable maps on non-commutative \(L^p\)-spaces, and showed that a finite rank map between noncommutative \(L^p\)-spaces is decomposable if and only if it can be factored through \(\mathcal{S}_p\) spaces and the decomposable norm is equal to the decomposable factorization norm. Furthermore, they showed that a von Neumann algebra \(\mathfrak{M}\) is injective if and only if for some (and thus for all) \(1 < p <\infty\), \(L^p(\mathfrak{M})\) has the bounded decomposable approximation property. The idea of the present paper is to derive a norm on matrices of \(L^p\)-spaces from the order structure so that this norm is quite similar to the norm used in [\textit{G.~Pisier}, Bull. Sci. Math. 119, No.~2, 95--118 (1995; Zbl 0826.46056)]. The author characterizes decomposable maps from \(\mathfrak{M}\) to \(L^q(\mathfrak{N})\) for \(1\leq q\leq\infty\) and from \(L^p(\mathfrak{M})\) to \(L^1(\mathfrak{N})\) for \(1\leq p\leq\infty\).
