Let \(\mathfrak{g}\) be an affine Kac-Moody Lie algebra. The set of dominant integral weight \(\Lambda^+\) is a poset with respect to the partial order \(\lambda-\mu\ge 0\) if it is a non-negative integer combination of simple roots. The author shows that each connected component of this poset is a lattice and explicitly describes the conditions for the relation that \(\lambda\) covers \(\mu\) in \(\Lambda^+\). This is not the same as the case of a simple Lie algebra. For the type \(A_{n+1}^{(1)}\), the author also explicitly describes the basic cell structure in the poset of dominant integral weights.
