The notion of \(\mathcal{C}_u\)-nuclearity was introduced in [\textit{C. Ivanescu} and \textit{D. Kučerovský}, New York J. Math. 25, 423--450 (2019; Zbl 1439.46042)]. There, a \(C^*\)-algebra \(A\) was defined to be \(\mathcal{C}_u\)-nuclear if the map canonical quotient map from \(A\otimes_{\max} B\) to \(A\otimes_{\min} B\) induces isomorphisms of Cuntz semigroups for all \(C^*\)-algebras \(B\). An open question was asked: Are such \(C^*\)-algebras necessarily nuclear? The present paper answers this question. It is proved that \(\mathcal{C}_u\)-nuclearity does imply nuclearity. It is further proved that for \(C^*\)-algebras with finitely many ideals, weak \(\mathcal{C}_u\)-nuclearity implies nuclearity.
