The ternary Cahn-Hillard (CH) model has extensive applications in material and fluid fields. For such a problem, employing the classical scalar auxiliary variable (SAV) method incurs extra computational costs, due to the decoupling between local and non-local variables. The authors, using a modified scalar auxiliary variable approach (MSAV), propose linear, decoupled, and energy dissipation-preserving schemes for these fluid models. While inheriting the merits of the classical SAV method, viz., linear scheme and energy stability, the proposed method also allows for simpler calculations. For a single time iteration, one only needs to solve a set of linear equations by a step-by-step procedure, ensuring the high efficiency of the computation. Further, to accelerate the convergence, a fast linear multigrid algorithm is adopted to solve the resulting discrete systems. Various numerical tests are performed to illustrate the performance of the proposed methods.
