In the publication the well-known Klein-Gordon equation of a scalar field is supplemented with a couple of different potentials. Known example for such a suplementation is the \(\phi^4\) theory leading to e.g. the spontaneous symmetry breaking and the Higgs mechanism. However, this is not the aim of the authors. It is not a surprise that the publication appeared in the Journal of Mathematical Chemistry, as the potentials the authors use are necessary to calculate molecule spectra. Therefore, knowledge about the Klein-Gordon field in quantum field theory might not be of any help here. Rather, the publication deals more with the solutions of differential equations. As methods the authors use the parametric Nikiforov-Uvarov method and a supersymmetric quantum mechanical method. Using either of these methods, solutions are obtained and presented for the modified Yukawa-Kratzer potential (MYKP), the modified Kratzer plus screened Coulomb potential (MKSCP), the modified Yukawa potential (MYP), and a class of Yukawa potential(s) (CYP), where in most of all cases the singular is used instead of a plural, leaving open whether this is really a class (of potentials) or a single one. In general, problems in expressing the intention of the authors are felt throughout the publication. On the other hand, people in the field probably know the intention, and the rich collection of diagrams and tables are probably of much help for the practitioner in molecular spectroscopy. As being from a different field of science, I leave it to the reader whether this publication is of benefit for her or him.
