Homomorphic images of affine quandles (Q2046355)

In the paper under review, the authors investigate quandles that are homomorphic images of Alexander quandles (also called affine quandles). Precisely, they give some conditions which characterize homomorphic images of Alexander quandles (Theorems 3.1 and 3.3): (1) by a property of the displacement group and (2) by a property of the corresponding affine mesh. The article contains an algorithm for recognizing homomorphic images of affine quandles. For embeddings, the proof is not constructive, but for quotients it is (polynomial time algorithm).
