The authors correct a gap in the classification of smooth complex factorial affine surfaces of logarithmic Kodaira dimension zero with no non-constant invertible functions given in [\textit{R. V. Gurjar} and \textit{M. Miyanishi}, in: Algebraic geometry and commutative algebra. 99--124 (1988; Zbl 0707.14015)]. It is observed that the argument and techniques used in [loc. cit.] do actually provide additional infinite series of such surfaces with arbitrarily high-dimensional moduli, obtained as explicit affine blow-ups of the affine plane. The authors classify these new surfaces up to algebraic isomorphism and to diffeomorphisms of their underlying structures of smooth manifolds. It is shown in particular that each of these surfaces can be realized as an interior of a 4-manifold whose boundary is an exceptional surgery on a 2-bridge knot. Properties of their groups of algebraic and analytic automorphisms are also discussed.
