This paper is devoted to \textit{decoupling}, i.e., an evolution of two initially correlated quantum systems into uncorrelated state [\textit{F. Dupuis} et al., Commun. Math. Phys. 328, 251--284 (2014; Zbl 1290.81009)]. The \textit{partial decoupling} is defined for a space of states \(\mathcal H\) decomposed into direct sum of tensor products with pairs of Hilbert spaces representing two subsystems. After definitions, notations and formulations of problems and main results authors investigate suggested criteria of decoupling. Two different formulation of partial decoupling are presented (non-randomized and randomized). The lower and upper bounds are derived on how precisely the partial decoupling could be achieved. The bounds are defined in terms of \textit{smooth conditional entropies} of quantum states [\textit{M. Tomamichel}, Quantum information processing with finite resources. Mathematical foundations. Cham: Springer (2016; Zbl 1325.81003)].
