Let \(M\) be a hypersurface in hyperbolic space \(\mathbb{H}^{n+1}\) and let \(\mathcal{W}\) denote its Weingarten matrix. Then the shifted Weingarten matrix is \(\mathcal{W-I}\). The hypersurface \(M\) is called horo-convex if the shifted Weingarten matrix of \(M\) is positive-definite. Let \(h_{ij}\) denote the second fundamental form of \(M\) and \(g\) be the induced metric of \(M\). If \(\widetilde{h}_{ij}=h_{ij}-g_{ij}\), then the shifted Gauss curvature of \(M\) at \(x\in M\) is defined by \(\det\left( \widetilde{h}_{j}^{i}\left( x\right) \right) \). The authors study the problem of finding a horo-convex hypersurface \(M\) in \(\mathbb{H}^{n+1}\) satisfying the prescribed shifted Gauss curvature, i.e., satisfying the following Monge-Ampère type equation: \[ \left( \det\left( \widetilde{h}_{j}^{i}\left( x\right) \right) \right) ^{\frac{1}{n}}=f. \] The main theorem (Theorem 1.1) gives a solution to this problem subject to certain sufficient conditions.
