This paper concerns the study of \(b^m\)-symplectic and \(b^m\)-contact geometry with motivations coming from problems in fluid dynamics and celestial mechanics. Examples of compact \(b^m\)-contact manifolds without periodic Reeb orbits away from the critical set are given. In dimension 3 the dynamics on the critical set is Hamiltonian and then there are always infinitely many periodic orbits on the critical set if it is compact. Moreover it is proved that the dynamics of the \(b^m\)-Reeb flow contrasts the smooth case, namely traps exist in any dimension. Hofer's proof of the Weinstein conjecture with existence of overtwisted disk is extended to the non compact case with some additional trasversality conditions close to the boundary. Furthermore the dynamics on positive energy level-sets of the restricted planar circular 3 body problem are described by the flow of a \(b^3\)-Reeb vector field.
