Following the principles of symplectic field theory, the construction of the Chekanov-Eliashberg DGA is functorial with respect to embedded exact Lagrangian cobordisms. For two \(1\)-dimensional Legendrian submanifolds \(\Lambda_-\) and \(\Lambda_+\) in a 1-jet space \(J^1(M)\), an embedded exact Lagrangian cobordism \(L\) from \(\Lambda_-\) to \(\Lambda_+\) is an exact Lagrangian surface in the symplectization of \(J^1(M)\) that is cylindrical over \(\Lambda_+\) and \(\Lambda_-\) near the positive end and the negative end, respectively. An embedded exact Lagrangian cobordism \(L\) from \(\Lambda_-\) to \(\Lambda_+\) induces a DGA map from the Chekanov-Eliashberg algebra \(\mathcal A(\Lambda_+)\) to \(\mathcal A(\Lambda_-)\). Moreover, if the cobordism changes by an exact Lagrangian isotopy, the induced DGA map changes by a DGA homotopy. In the paper under review, the authors have extended the functorality of the Chekanov-Eliashberg DGA from embedded exact Lagrangian cobordisms to conical Legendrian cobordisms. To a conical Legendrian cobordism \(\Sigma\) from \(\Lambda_-\) to \(\Lambda_+\), the authors associate an immersed DGA map, which can be described by the diagram \[\mathcal A(\Lambda_+) \stackrel{f}{\rightarrow} \mathcal A(\Sigma) \stackrel{i}{\hookleftarrow} \mathcal A(\Lambda_-). \] The proposed construction gives a functor between suitably defined categories of Legendrians with immersed Lagrangian cobordisms and DGAs with immersed DGA maps. The authors also provide examples of augmentations of Legendrian twist knots that are induced by an immersed filling (cobordism with an empty negative end) with a single double point, but cannot be induced by any orientable embedded filling.
