For \(1\le p <\infty\), and \(\alpha>0\), we define the Fock space \(F^p_\alpha\) as the space of entire functions satisfying \[\int_{\mathbb{C}}|f(z)|^pe^{-\frac{p\alpha}{2}|z|^2}dA(z)< \infty,\] where \(dA(z)\) denotes the usual area measure in the complex plane. Equipped with the norm \[\| f\|^p_{p,\alpha}=\frac{p\alpha}{2\pi}\int_{\mathbb{C}}|f(z)|^pe^{-\frac{p\alpha}{2}|z|^2}dA(z),\] the Fock space \(F^p_\alpha\) is a Banach space. If \(p=2\), the space \(F^2_\alpha\) is a Hilbert space in which the inner product is defined by \[\langle f, g\rangle =\int_\mathbb{C} f(z)\overline{g(z)}d\lambda_\alpha(z),\] where \[d\lambda_\alpha(z)=\frac{\alpha}{\pi}e^{-\alpha |z|^2}dA(z)\] is the Gaussian measure. It is well known that for each complex number \(z\), and each \(f\in F^p_\alpha\) the following pointwise estimate holds true [\textit K. Zhu, Analysis on Fock spaces. New York, NY: Springer (2012; Zbl 1262.30003), Theorem 2.7]: \[|f(z)|\le e^{\frac{\alpha |z|^2}{2}}\Vert f\Vert_{p,\alpha}.\] In the paper under review, the authors provide some sharp pointwise estimates for the \(n\)-th derivative of a function \(f\in F^p_\alpha\). More precisely, it is proved in Theorem 2.1 that for \(n\ge 1\), \[|f^{(n)}(z)|\le C_n(|z|)\Vert f-T_n(f,z)\Vert_{p,\alpha},\] where \[C_n(|z|)=\frac{\left (\frac{\alpha p}{2}\right )^{n/2} n!}{ \Gamma^{1/p}\left (1+\frac{np}{2}\right ) }e^{\frac{\alpha |z|^2}{2}},\] and \[T_n(f,z)(w)=\sum_{k=0}^{n-1}\frac{f^k(z)}{k!}(w-z)^k.\] The authors also compute the extremal functions; the functions for which equality holds. It is also shown that (Corollary 2.8) \[|f^{(n)}(z)|\le \frac{(\alpha p)^{n/2}n!}{2^{n/2} \Gamma^{1/p}\left (1+\frac{np}{2}\right )}\Vert f_z\Vert_{p,\alpha},\] where \(f_z(w)=f(z+w)\). In this case, the extremal functions are of the form \(f_{A,n}(w)=A(w-z)^n\), where \(A\) is a constant.
