The three-dimensional exterior problem for the Navier-Stokes equations is considered for time-periodic flows. The exponential decay of the vorticity outside the wake region is shown, uniformly in time. Moreover, the time fluctuation of the vorticity in the wake region decays algebraically and faster that the vorticity itself. This means that far from the body, the vorticity field behaves like that of the steady state exterior problem.
