In this paper, the method of asymptotic reduction generates new models for elongation and flexural deformation of micro-structured plates on the base of the couple-stress linear theory of elasticity with micro-inertia. The novel size-dependent plate model is developed by asymptotic reduction for the elastodynamics of a thin strip of couple stress elastic isotropic material with micro-inertia. Asymptotic reduction is a technique by which dimensional-reduced models are built which preserve the fundamental dispersion feature of the original 3D body. The constructed models reproduce the dispersion features of the fundamental mode of the 3D body. The degree of approximation for such models can be refined. The proposed models are useful for modelling of micro and nano-systems.
