Let \(\Omega\) be either the two-dimensional Euclidean space or the set \(\{x\in \mathbb R^2:|x|=r\ge r_0\}\). The authors consider the following elliptic equation. \[ -\sum_{i,j=1}^2\partial_j(a_{ij}(x)\partial_ju)+b(x)\cdot\nabla u+c(x)u=0,\text{ for }x\in\Omega \text{ and }u\in C^2(\Omega), \] such that \(\displaystyle\sum_{i,j=1}^2a_{ij}(x)\xi_i\xi_j\ge \lambda|\xi|^2\) for \(\lambda>0\), $\xi=(\xi_1,\xi_2)\in\mathbb R^2$, and \(x\in\Omega\). Furthermore, the coefficients $(a_{ij}(x))_{1\le i,j\le 2}$ satisfy the growth conditions \(|a_{ij}(x)|=O(|x|^\alpha)\) and \(\partial_ia_{ij}(x)|=O(|x|^{\alpha-1})\) as \(x\) goes to infinity, where \(\alpha\in[0,2]\). The coefficient \(b(x)\in C^1(\Omega)\) satisfies \(b(x)=O(|x|^\beta)\) as \(x\) goes to infinity, besides \(b(x)\) satisfies other meaningful assumptions, and \(c(x)\) is a positive measurable function. The authors state that if \(u\) is additionally \(q\)-integrable on \(\Omega\) for \(q\ge 2\), then \(\displaystyle \sup_{\theta\in [0,2\pi]}|u(r,\theta)|=o(r^{-\frac{1}{q}(1+\frac{\gamma}{2})})\) as \(r\) goes to infinity where \(\gamma=\min(1-\beta,2-\alpha)\) (Theorem 1.1). Also, they study a corresponding parabolic problem and examine the energy identity for \(q\)-integrable solutions (Theorem 1.3).
