An elliptic billiard is the trajectory of a particle moving in the interior of an ellipse, with ideal physical reflections in the boundary. The author is interested in the geometry of billiards in ellipses and their associated poncelet grids. A comparison of billiards having elliptic caustic with billiards having hyperbolic caustic is given. In the last part of the paper periodic \(N\)-sided billiards are considered.
