The present paper gives a proof of an old conjecture of \textit{T. Yano} [Sci. Rep. Saitama Univ., Ser. A 10, No. 2, 21--28 (1982; Zbl 0519.14022)] on the fact that, given an irreducible germ of plane curve, on some \(\mu\)-constant deformation of it, the corresponding set of b-exponents are constant for generic members in the family and equal to precise numbers which are computed from desingularization data of the given germ of curve. The proof uses an upper-semi-continuity theorem for these b-exponents in a one-parameter \(\mu\)-constant deformation of an irreducible germ of plane curve.
