Analyzing bifurcations of periodic solutions in nonlinear models of suspension bridges with spatially variable stiffness \(c(x)\) it is necessary for the linear part of the bridge equation to have a strictly positive stationary solution. In this paper, the authors use the results of Schröder's operator reduction to study the existence of this sufficient condition. The modification of this method allows to extend the strictly inverse positive interval, i.e., allowing the maximum and/or minimum of \(c\) to reach larger values.
