The authors study a viscoelastic problem with a prescribed time dependent growing crack \[\ddot u(t)-\text{div}\left((\mathbb{C}+\mathbb{V})Eu(t)\right)+\text{div}\left(\int_0^te^{\tau-t}\mathbb{V}Eu(\tau)\text d\tau\right)=\ell(t)\ \text{in}\ Q_{cr},\] where \(Q_{cr}:=\{(x,t):t\in[0,T],\ x\in\Omega\setminus\Gamma_t\}\) with initial conditions \(u(0)=u^0,\ \dot u(0)=u^1\) and mixed boundary conditions on the Lipschitz boundary \(\partial\Omega =\partial_D\Omega\cup\partial_N\Omega\) of the bounded open set \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^d\ d\ge 1\). A weak solution of the initial-boundary value problem is formulated. Main results of the paper are a uniqueness of a weak solution and its continuous dependence on the crack.
