Waldspurger's famous result relates toric periods and central values of automorphic \(L\)-functions for \(\mathrm{GL}_2\). To generalize this result to higher rank cases, Guo and Jacquet have proposed an approach using the relative trace formulae. In the paper under review, the author establishes an infinitesimal variant of the Guo-Jacquet trace formula for the case of a central simple algebra over a number field \(F\) containing a quadratic field extension \(E/F\). To prove his results, the author defines an analogue of Arthur's truncation and study the properties of this truncation (for example, the absolute convergence). The infinitesimal trace formula is proved using the Poisson summation formula. At the end of the paper, the author also proves some local results. The author states and proves the weighted fundamental lemma at the infinitesimal level. The author works in the infinitesimal level for two reasons. The first is that the truncation for the infinitesimal level is expected to be adapted truncation for the symmetric space. The second is that the infinitesimal trace formulae should be useful for the proof of results on the transfer. This paper is written clearly and it is enjoyable to read it.
