In this paper the author considers parabolic equations of the type \[ F(D^2u, Du, x, t) -u_t = 0, \] where \(F\) is assumed to be uniformly elliptic in the Hessian and has a suitable nonlinear growth in the gradient variable. Following an idea by Caffarelli, the author establishes a scale invariant Harnack inequality in a suitable intrinsic geometry dictated by the nonlinearity. The class of equations considered corresponds to the parabolic counterpart of the equations studied by Julin where a generalized Harnack inequality was obtained which quantifies the strong maximum principle. It is worth to be noticed that this version of parabolic Harnack inequality, when restricted to the elliptic case, is however quite different from the one obtained by Julin. The key new feature of this work is an appropriate modification of the stack of cubes covering argument which is tailored for the nonlinearity considered.
