The paper deals with a hands-on computation of minimal models of elliptic curves with a given non-trivial torsion subgroup. The computation of such a minimal model is interesting in itself for many reasons. Therefore, the results may be useful for anyone aiming to delve in torsion-related problems. Not surprisingly (at least for someone who has devoted some time to this kind of problems), the most complicated cases are those involving points of order \(2\), both in cyclic and non-cyclic structures. Some additional results which are obtained from the main ones involve the primes with additive reduction allowed, depending on the torsion structure, and some new proofs to long-known results by \textit{G. Frey} [Ann. Univ. Sarav., Ser. Math. 1, No. 1, 40 p. (1986; Zbl 0586.10010)] and \textit{M. Flexor} and \textit{J. Oesterlé} [in: Discriminant et conducteur des courbes elliptiques, Astérisque 183, 25--36 (1990; Zbl 0737.14004)]. The techniques are not particularly original, but the proofs are very well crafted with a great deal of attention to details. This makes the paper easy to read, in spite of its length.
