The authors are concerned with some finite difference methods in order to approximate the solutions of some thermal convection models with infinite Prandtl number on non-uniform staggered grids. The model consists of partial differential equations for the velocity field, pressure and temperature. Unfortunately, there is no indication that the model is well posed. Backward Euler for time derivative along with a finite difference method based on characteristics is used in order to approximate the model's solutions. The authors try some error estimates and present a non conclusive numerical example.
