Inspired by \textit{I. Mineyev}'s result of metric structures of the Gromov boundary of hyperbolic complexes via sphericalization [Conform. Geom. Dyn. 11, 137--163 (2007; Zbl 1165.20035)], the authors show that the Gromov boundary of a Gromov hyperbolic space is doubling for a Bourdon metric if and only if it is doubling for a Hamenstädt metric. Using the sphericalization trick, the authors show that \textit{P. Koskela} et al.'s main result for bounded domains of the metric spaces [Ann. Sci. Éc. Norm. Supér. (4) 47, No. 5, 975--990 (2014; Zbl 1317.30085)], which extends \textit{Z. M. Balogh} and \textit{S. M. Buckley}'s result to an abstract metric setting [Invent. Math. 153, No. 2, 261--301 (2003; Zbl 1059.30038)], also hold for the unbounded domains case.
