Let \(M =(M, \varphi, \xi, \eta, g)\) be an almost contact metric manifold with Levi-Civita connection \(\nabla\). A curve \(\gamma(s)\) in \(M\) is said to be a \(\varphi\)-trajectory if it satisfies \(\nabla_{\gamma\prime} \gamma\prime = q \varphi(\gamma\prime)\) for some constant \(q\) (called the charge). In case the fundamental 2-form \(\Phi\) is closed, \(\varphi\)-trajectories are called contact magnetic trajectories. The authors study \(\varphi\)-trajectories in Kenmotsu manifolds. Parametric expression for \(\varphi\)-trajectories in the hyperbolic 3-space are given. Recall that the almost contact metric 3-manifold \(M\) is said to be an almost \(f\)-Kenmotsu 3-manifold if it satisfies following formula: \(\nabla_X\xi =f(X-\eta(X)\xi)+ h\varphi X\), where \(f\) is a smooth strictly positive function and \(h=\frac 12 L_\xi \varphi\).
