This paper deals with he porous media equation with a source term, \[ \rho_t-\operatorname{div} (\rho\nabla P) = \lambda(x,t)\rho,\qquad t>0,\,x\in\Omega, \] set in the (exterior) domain \(\Omega = \mathbb{R}^n \setminus K\), where \(K\) is a bounded subset of \(\mathbb{R}^n\) with smooth boundary and supplemented with the ``injection'' boundary condition \[ \rho(x,t)= f(x,t)^{1/(m-1)} >0 \qquad \text{on}\>\partial K\times(0,\infty), \] as well as the initial data \[\rho(t = 0) = \rho_{m,0}\ge0.\] The pressure term is defined by \[ p=\frac{m \rho^{m-1}}{m-1} \] and \(\lambda\) is bounded. The authors study the incompressible limit as \(m \to\infty\). They characterize the limit density, which solves a free boundary problem of Hele-Shaw type in terms of the limit pressure, and the limit pressure, which solves an obstacle problem at each time in the evolution.
