In the paper under review the author studies linkages between rational elliptic surfaces and the trigonometry of non-Euclidean tetrahedra. The main result provides us a bijective correspondence between non-Euclidean tetrahedra and certain complex elliptic surfaces with a pair of \(I_{2}\)-fibers. Based on that, the author can interpret the edge lengths and the dihedral angles of a tetrahedron as values of the period maps associated with these surfaces. Another geometry interpretation comes from the Regge symmetries of a tetrahedron, and one can relate it with the action of the Weyl group \(W(D_{6})\) on the Picard lattice of the surfaces.
