Regularity and cohomology of Pfaffian thickenings (Q2074406)

This article includes some nice results pertaining to \(GL\)-invariant ideals in the coordinate ring \(S\) of \(n \times n\) complex skew symmetric matrices. The first main result proved in the paper, Theorem F, gives nice formulas for determining \(\mathrm{Ext}^j_S(S/I,S)\), for \(I\) a \(GL\)-invariant ideal as a finite direct sum of \(\mathrm{Ext}^j_S(M,S)\) where \(M\) are the \(GL\)-invariant modules appearing in a \(GL\)-equivariant filtration of \(S/I\). Theorem F also gives us nice formulas for computing the kernel, the image and the cokernel of the map \(\mathrm{Ext}^j_S(S/I,S) \rightarrow \mathrm{Ext}^j_S(S/J,S)\) when \(J \subseteq I\) are both \(GL\)-invariant ideals. Another significant result, Theorem A, determines a compact formula the regularity of regular and symbolic powers of Pfaffian ideals for large \(d\). Theorem C also determines a formula for more general \(GL\)-invariant ideals given by partitions of \(n\) into at most \(\lfloor \frac{n}{2} \rfloor\). The final section includes some nice examples illustrating some computations the Ext modules mentioned above and the regularity for the thickenings of \(\mathbb{G}(2,6)\) in \(\mathbb{P}(\wedge^2 \mathbb{C}^6)\).
