\textit{D. B. Ray} and \textit{I. M. Singer} [Adv. Math. 7, 145--210 (1971; Zbl 0239.58014)] defined the analytic torsion and conjectured that it will be equal to the Reidemeister torsion. This was proved independently by \textit{J. Cheeger} [Ann. Math. (2) 109, 259--322 (1979; Zbl 0412.58026)] and by \textit{W. Müller} [Adv. Math. 28, 233--305 (1978; Zbl 0395.57011)]. Later, \textit{W. Müller} [J. Am. Math. Soc. 6, No. 3, 721--753 (1993; Zbl 0789.58071)] extended this result to the unimodular case. At about the same time, \textit{J.-M. Bismut} and \textit{W. Zhang} [An extension of a theorem by Cheeger and Müller. With an appendix by François Laudenbach. Paris: Société Mathématique de France (1992; Zbl 0781.58039)] generalized the Cheeger-Müller theorem to arbitrary flat bundles. For the \(L^2\)-version, after the works of many mathematicians, \textit{W. Zhang} [Topology 44, No. 6, 1093--1131 (2005; Zbl 1082.58030)] established the \(L^2\)-Cheeger-Müller theorem for arbitrary flat bundles. If the boundary of the manifold is nonempty, the general case of the Cheeger-Müller theorem was established by \textit{J. Brüning} and \textit{X. Ma} [C. R., Math., Acad. Sci. Paris 335, No. 7, 603--608 (2002; Zbl 1023.58018); Math. Z. 273, No. 3--4, 1085--1117 (2013; Zbl 1318.58018)]. For the \(L^2\) case, \textit{D. Burghelea} et al. [Math. Nachr. 208, 31--91 (1999; Zbl 0959.58041); Commun. Contemp. Math. 3, No. 1, 15--85 (2001; Zbl 0994.58018)] proved the corresponding Cheeger-Müller theorem under the assumption that the metric on the bundle is flat and the metric on the manifold is product near the boundary. In this paper, the author extends the results by Burghelea, Friedlander and Kappeller [loc. cit.] under the assumption as follows: (a) the manifold is odd-dimensional and the bundle is unimodular; (b) the manifold and the bundle is \(L^2\)-acyclic and of determinant class; (c) the restriction of the manifold and the bundle on the boundary is of determinant class.
