The paper presents a criterion for a transversely oriented foliation of codimension one on a closed manifold to admit a simple foliated flow. Given a foliation \(\mathcal F\), a flow is foliated if it maps leaves of \(\mathcal F\) to leaves; it is simple if all its fixed points and closed orbits are simple (see Section 1.1), in particular, they are isolated, and on a closed manifold, their number is finite. Namely, the authors show that a transversely oriented smooth foliation \(\mathcal F\) of codimension one on a closed manifold \(M\) admits a simple foliated flow exactly in the following five cases (see Theorem 0.1 for details): (1) \(M\) is a fiber bundle over \(S^1\) with connected fibers, and \(\mathcal F\) is defined by these fibers. (2) \(\mathcal F\) is a minimal \(\mathbb{R}\)-Lie foliation. (3) \(\mathcal F\) is an elementary transversely affine foliation with some additional properties. (4) \(\mathcal F\) is a transversely projective foliation with some additional properties. (5) \(\mathcal F\) is obtained using some special changes from a foliation satisfying (3) or (4).
