    In this paper the authors provide estimates for a discrete version of the bilinear spherical maximal function. Let \(f\) and \(g\) be real-valued functions on \(\mathbb{Z}^d\). The bilinear operator \(T^\ast\) is defined by \[T^\ast(f,g)(\mathfrak{x}) = \sup_{\lambda \in \mathbb{N}}\left|\frac{1}{N(\lambda)}\sum_{\mathfrak{u}^2 + \mathfrak{v}^2 = \lambda} f(\mathfrak{x} - \mathfrak{u})g(\mathfrak{x} - \mathfrak{v})\right|\;,\] where \(\mathfrak{u}, \mathfrak{v} \in \mathbb{Z}^d\) and \(N(\lambda) = \#\{(\mathfrak{u},\mathfrak{v}) \in \mathbb{Z}^d \times \mathbb{Z}^d :\mathfrak{u}^2 + \mathfrak{v}^2 = \lambda\}\) is the number of lattice points on the sphere of radius \(\lambda^{1/2}\) in \(\mathbb{R}^{2d}\). Here \(\mathfrak{u}^2 = u_1^2 + \cdots u_d^2\) . The main result of the paper is the following: Theorem. \(T^\ast\) is bounded \(l^p(\mathbb{Z}^d) \times l^\infty(\mathbb{Z}^d) \rightarrow l^p(\mathbb{Z}^d)\) for all \(d \geq 3\), \(p > \frac{d}{d-2}\). A corollary of this result is the following. Corollary. \(T^\ast\) is bounded \(l^p(\mathbb{Z}^d) \times l^q(\mathbb{Z}^d) \rightarrow l^r(\mathbb{Z}^d)\) for all \(d \geq 3\), \(\frac{1}{p} + \frac{1}{q} \geq \frac{1}{r}\), \(r > \frac{d}{d-2}\) and \(p,q \geq 1\) .
